My wonderful friend K. Johnson-Bair is having a specialSOFT RELEASEof her new book 400 Saturdays: An Anthology of Vinyl Folklore .
It is a mostly local-centric expose of native vinylphiles and the records they love. Intimate interviews with obsessive cratediggers in their natural environs.

Sonny Blood - Two Improvisations - Self Released
I probably won't even bother to list it in the disastro page, they should be gone so quick. Sonny has been a member of Second Family Band from times unremembered but his hands have only graced the air two or three times while the tape was rolling. When the record button was pushed, this guy always seemed to disappear... It was great to find that he had self-released a few creepy string things from the Northwoods. Apparently limited to 17 hand-stamped/ hand-numbered copies. Green matching cassette and case and ...
Last but not least, I' ve stumbled across this mixtape by a dude, Rex Raider here in Madison and it is kind of blowing my mind. It is a Jazz mixtape and it seems to be all analog, directly from crackly, old LP's. It ranges in genre from Black Power/Free Jazz to 70's Acedemic Psych numbers and even some bagpipes thrown in for good measure! You may not have to be a hardcore digger to know a few of these tracks- I recognized a couple for sure- but there were a few tracks on here from groups like the Forefront and a few others that I hadn't heard before. Perfect summer road cruise music. Blowing like jasmine in my mind...

Newly uncovered shimmering slime jam from 2007. Boiled down to two soupy, slathering sides. A rather focused space ramble. If you're not not paying attention by the middle of either side you are trying too hard. RELAX! Fluorescent green cassette in case with hand-stamped insert. Limited to 46 copies. There is a fresh Object Tapes release in the catalog as well. So get browsin'!

Pan to Scratch helps close out the Odomez Serie. The Odomez Serie was a kind of sub-label from Constantin Dubois' Nothing Out There
label. This sub-label drew it's inspiration from a burnt out factory
district in Odomez, France.
Always timely, we would like to announce our participation in the Editions of You "Handmade Music and Zine Fair"... last April.
Curated by Lisa Busby at Oxford Brookes University, this collection
featured some true outsiders and underground underdogs.

This the view looking down the stairs. The Second Family Band Dream Release LP (co-released with Tree Tapes and Boondock Pissoir) is visible in the lower right. The copy presented here is displayed with the cover and back askew to emphasize the handmade nature of the LP. This particular cover looks to have once been an old Hawaiian lounge record.
